One of the branches of the National Bank of England in Manchester was robbed last month and three million pounds as well as fifty gold bars were missing. The bank employees accounted that three armed men dressed in masks and heavy black jackets entered the office and demanded to open the safe. Then, they drove away with the loot and before the bank staff managed to call the police. Yesterday the police reported that they had caught the robbers while trying to sell gold bars in one of local banks. The gold bars were marked with a special symbol that is why the robbers were so quickly traced. Now, they are put in detention house and are to be questioned by the prosecutors. To confirm that these are the same men who committed the robbery, the bank workers have been asked to identify them, but the fact that they wanted to sell gold bars from the missing batch allow us to assume that they are guilty. However, the police requested all witnesses to give evidence as it may be crucial during the trial. After the interrogation they are going to be placed in a prison cell awaiting trial. The robbers can receive from ten to fifteen years prison sentence for their offence depending on their previous criminal history as well as their acknowledgement of guilt.
